FORT MYERS, Florida--12/20/2009--Kelly Blue Book (KBB) has given several awards to Toyota for "Best Resale Value" for eight of its 2010 vehicles, including an award for "Best Brand for Resale Value," and three vehicles placed in the top ten of all vehicles. The awards received were as follows:

• Best Resale Value for Mid-Size Pickup: 2010 Tacoma
• Best Resale Value for Mid-Size Utility Vehicle: 2010 Highlander
• Best Resale Value for Van: 2010 Sienna
• Best Resale Value for Hybrid/Alternative Fuel Car: 2010 Prius
• Best Resale Value for Brand: 2010 Toyota
• Top 10 Resale Value Vehicles: 2010 Tacoma, 2010 Prius and 2010 RAV4

The Best Resale Value Award is given by KBB in recognition of vehicles that are expected to keep the greatest proportion of their original retail price after five years of ownership. These projections are based on the Kelley Blue Book Official Residual Value Guide. They are compiled by numerous automotive data researchers and market analysts and used by financial institutions and the leasing industry. Awards are presented to vehicles in 16 different categories for the Overall Top 10 models.

While sticker price, fuel economy and safety features are often the deciding factors in a new-vehicle purchase, kbb.com experts suggest that consumers should also consider resale value when comparing vehicles. The higher resale value an automobile has, the better position an owner is to purchase a new vehicle in the future. Not only that, it helps offset the total cost of ownership of the vehicle.
