SOUTHWEST FLORIDA (December 28, 2009) – The Screaming Orphans, a high-spirited band of four sisters from County Donegal, Ireland, will rock the Sydney & Berne Davis Art Center on Friday, January 29 for “A Night Downtown” presented by the Rotary Club of Fort Myers. Beginning at 7:30 p.m., the musically-obsessed Diver sisters will play sets of original songs along with fresh takes on traditional Irish tunes with proceeds from the event benefiting the PACE Center for Girls of Lee County.
The sound of the Diver sisters (Marie Therese- Keyboard, Accordion; Grainne- Guitars; Angela-Bass Guitar, Violin; and Joan- Drums) has been compared to the Bangles and the Cranberries, and their musical influences range from the Beatles, R.E.M., Indigo Girls and Abba to traditional Irish music. Now residing in New York City, the quartet tours up and down the east coast and boasts a large following in Florida. The Screaming Orphans are currently nominated for Top Celtic Rock Band by the Irish Music Awards.
Fort Myers Car Dealer, Fort Myers Toyota, Makes Strides Against Breast Cancer for 8th Consecutive Year

On October 17, 2009, The Fort Myers Car Dealer, Fort Myers Toyota team once again participated in the 8th annual Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Five-Kilometer Walk/Run of Lee County, held by the American Cancer Society at Centennial Park in downtown Ft. Myers.
The Making Strides Against Breast Cancer 5K Walk/Run is an event to raise money for the fight against breast cancer. It celebrates those who survive the disease and gives people an occasion to express their hope. The event supports all those who share the goal of ending a disease that threatens so many. Teams of walkers and folks of all ages participated. The walk began at 8:15 a.m. and ended at Oasis Restaurant for the Ft. Myers Toyota team walkers.

Ft. Myers Toyota, "The Family Store," Kicks Off ROCK For Charity, ROLL with a Ride (TM) Rocking Chair Auction

Ft. Myers Toyota, "The Family Store," is auctioning off 28 beautifully hand-painted rocking chairs to raise money and awareness for 14 different local charities during the "ROCK for Charity, ROLL with a Ride(tm) online auction.
The auction is being kicked off with a preview event at the Holiday Art Market produced by ArtFest Fort Myers at the Harborside Convention Center Friday November 20 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.; and Saturday and Sunday, November 21 to 22 from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Online bidding begins November 20, 2009 at 5:00 p.m. and ends February 7, 2010 at 6:00 p.m.
